Brighton & Hove
Japanese Club

The Japanese Club is run by volunteers from Japanese families living in Brighton and the surrounding area. Every Saturday (during term time only), at St Paul’s Primary School, Japanese children and children who are interested in Japan have a chance to learn Japanese and take part in activities that introduce Japanese culture.

We support the opportunity of children to study the Japanese language and culture and aim to promote cultural exchange between Japanese and local people by holding events throughout the year, such as the End of Year Party and the Open Day; we support the gathering and distribution of information and knowledge for Japanese people living in the area, in particular with regards to bilingual education and mixed-culture up-bringing and education.

In general we accept visitors on the first Saturday of the month, but depending on the circumstances other days may be possible: first please use the Contact Form to get in touch. Please note that for membership, although nationality is of no consequence, it is important that one of the parents should be able to communicate in Japanese. Your understanding is appreciated.

We have classes for toddlers to A level students. Please feel free to ask for more information.
